Behind the Scenes: Our Security Administrators
Much of the security industry’s focus tends to be on the visible presence of frontline security guards and patrols who protect people and property. However, their great work would not be possible without a dedicated group of professionals behind the scenes: the security administrators.
They play a crucial role in providing the necessary support that allows our entire security operations to function effectively.
Today we celebrate three outstanding security administrators who represent the excellence and dedication of their profession: Amanda, Andrea and Michelle. But in celebrating them, we are also celebrating our wider security administration team – all of whom are champions to us!

Amanda – Auckland
Amanda is a hugely experienced security administrator who shows a high degree of commitment to safeguarding clients’ interests. Her meticulous attention to detail and proactive approach to evolving security challenges have made her a valued team member.
Among her many tasks is reviewing and reconciling client invoices, and ensuring rosters comply with client-specific requirements. Amanda’s dedication to keeping records accurate ensures clean billing and audit readiness, further cementing her reputation as a top-tier security administrator.
Over her 34 years in the industry, Amanda has witnessed significant changes in technology, the economy, and company operations. Yet, through it all, she has maintained an admirable level of professionalism and readiness.
Andrea, Hamilton
Andrea oversees administrative functions across four Armourguard branches, excelling in her role. Her dedication to improving efficiency has saved valuable time for both colleagues and clients, and her willingness to learn new tools in her own time has greatly benefited the business.
An example of her ingenuity is the overhaul of the freedom camping reporting process. Previously, reports were manually entered into a spreadsheet, but Andrea recognised the inefficiency and taught herself to create a form on Microsoft Forms. She then trained frontline staff to input data directly into the form, streamlining the process. This innovation resulted in thousands of entries being automatically uploaded into the client’s system, reducing errors and saving the business significant time.

Michelle, Hawke’s Bay
Michelle’s 27 years of service to the Hawke’s Bay branch has given her a comprehensive understanding of operations and services, enabling her to provide consistent administrative, financial, and operational support to everyone she encounters.
She oversees back-office operations, including credit control, accounts payable, payroll, and general office management. She also provides support and leadership to other regions in streamlining their office procedures and systems. Michelle’s role as the right hand to the Regional Manager gives her valued input into every level of the operation, and her extensive knowledge makes her the go-to person for both internal and external partners seeking assistance with operational or procedural issues.
