New Zealand Security Association has announced the finalists for the 2026 New Zealand Security Awards, and we are incredibly proud to see that Armourguard is strongly represented with nine finalists across a number of categories. What’s more, Armourguard people represent all finalists in the Security Officer of the Year category, guaranteeing us a win!

Being named a finalist is a significant achievement in itself. These awards recognise the very best people, teams and initiatives across New Zealand’s security industry, and the standard of entries is always very high.

This is an outstanding result for Armourguard and reflects the talent we have across the business. While the awards recognise particular individuals and teams, their achievements are also supported by the many colleagues who work alongside them every day and reflect a culture built on teamwork, respect and a shared commitment to excellence.

The Security Awards also recognise security professionals who have saved a life during the year. Once again, Armourguard personnel have recorded the highest number of recognised life-saving incidents, with seven lives saved. Gregory Surrey, Siaosi (George) Taina, Mauga Laufau, Seira Umuma’o, Sione Tonu, Ravijeet Singh and Dharm Malik are being recognised for moments when they stepped forward, stayed calm under pressure and took action when it mattered most. Behind every life saved is a family that has been spared the loss of a loved one because of the courage, compassion and professionalism shown by our people.

We thank all of our finalists and life-saving award recipients for the example they set and the difference they make for our customers, communities and fellow team members. They represent Armourguard with distinction, and the entire business will be behind them when the winners are announced at the awards evening in Wellington on 11 September.
